I love Columbo!! They show repeats here most Sunday mornings, early. Perfect way to start a Sunday.
I really liked Banacek, too, with George Peppard (long before the A-Team). These were usually how-dunnits that seemed impossible until Banacek figured them out.
I thank you from the bottom of my trench-coat.
(This is actually a lot less sinister than it sounds )
I could never figure out which eye was the false one..........
Columbo was one of those Sunday night must see mysteries for our family. Much better than McMillan and Wife.......
...Like Bev and others-I'm long enough in the tooth to remember first run Columbo epsiodes, and he was a master of his craft...Peter Falk made that character...no-one else was fit to don the trenchcoat...
It was a great detective show.
I watched Negative Reaction, the episode with Dick Van Dyke as a photographer. You may be safe, but I'd keep an eye to the heavens to be sure.
As I write this, I am watching Murder by the Book with Jack Cassidy. Hands down, Jack's Columbo episodes are my favorite.
I loved watching this show with my parents, Peter Falk made the character such an icon. God, I haven't seen it in years, I should tune in again.
FYI - I just checked and all the Columbo episodes are available for streaming on netflix.
UPDATE - I'm not totally sure it is all the episodes but there are episodes from each season (not sure how many aired - there only seem to be 7 or 8 episodes a season)
In the original series the Bassett hound did not have a name. Just referred to as dog. But in the spin off about his wife the dog was called Whitefang.
You ever have a Basset Spidey?
I always wanted one..........
My long haired doxie- Gismo(Spideyman) had some basset hound in him. They are adorable dogs.
Maybe someday I'll get to have one live with us.....
I don't consider the Mrs. Columbo spinoff to be "canon." He'll always be just "dog" to me!
