The 2016 Halloween Story will be coming to you all soon. I will be posting the parts starting on October 3rd. They will be posted every other day, no weekends.

Please remember, this years' story went back to its beginning roots. A fast and dirty way of getting our tale told.

We all went into the story blind, we had no idea what it would be about, there was no discussion, no outlines, no huge editing. What you see is the author's words.

We had writers from coast to coast and from the top to bottom of the United States. We also had: Canada, New Zealand, Thailand, Germany and Sweden represented. Which means you WILL see different voices, different writing styles -- and they were left that way on purpose.

They had very little time to do their part, which means very little time to mess with it.

We think it's pretty fun. We hope you all enjoy it too.

Any positive comments you would like to add for our writers may be placed here.

Thanks.

Tomorrow, our annual story begins!

I want to thank every single participant. I appreciate their enthusiasm and dedication to the rules and spirit of the story. They were all amazing people, I loved their contributions, and I hope they all had great fun, taking a piece of writing, blind, and adding to it. I think they did great!

Thank you writers, each one of you.

What an excellent commencement to the Halloween tale; GNT is a great writer, he should be a pro in the short-story magazine market (maybe he already is, I don't know). I loved the style of this part, and I think the concept, both itself and as it unfolds, is going to be fascinating and entertaining. I imagine Jerry Garcia's -- if he does indeed show up -- impact on the tale will be fun. But if he doesn't show up, it was still cool to see him mentioned, something that is especially apropos for a tale about the living dead.
