Chapter Twelve read like a screenplay...an action 'play, to be specific. I felt like I was in one of the best scenes from The Walking Dead, or even from the videogame series Resident Evil. I could feel the fear, and I could empathize with the characters that were in peril.

When a particular character had a zombie literally biting into the individual's flesh, it shocked me. I forgot that, like the aforementioned AMC series, no one should be considered immune from that sort of stuff. But it's like any good book one reads -- writers who know what they're doing make you feel one way, only to make you feel another way very abruptly, for purposes of changing the mood so quickly that certain emotional responses are summoned.

The ending of the chapter likewise changed my orientation of where we are going. I liked it quite a bit -- it's the kind of construction that is very additive of value. Now I'm in suspense as to what it means for the group.

Demeter, you could be in Hollywood right now writing a Liam Neeson thriller (or maybe Arnold Schwarzenegger's comeback). Thanks for the piece!

Rrty,
I think I enjoy reading your comments just as much as the sections of the stories! I agree. Demeter is some writer and it does feel like a screenplay.

Demeter, wonderful action-packed episode. Really great job, well done!
Flake - somehow or other it seems I overlooked your section of the story - my apologies for not commenting - very good work - thanks again for contributing (this is the first year I have read any of the stories)
