I see all of these yumalicious recipes on here and people talking about cooking.
I on the other hand, am a terrible cook. Just the other day I googled how to boil potatoes and how to cook bacon in the oven. I know, pretty bad ay? ;-D
One of my friends gave me a cook book for children years ago. Still have it.
My specialties are spaghetti noodles(I can boil water!)and mac and cheese.
I can't be the only undomestic(but still a goddess ;;D) out there can I?

I think I should audition for that Worst Cooks in America show.....

I'm with ya. My son and I got the bright idea we wanted lasagna last weekend. We went and bought the ingredients and managed to cook up what could have probably been considered a chemical weapon. I dumped it into the woods that border my house and could have sworn I saw raccoons, rabbits, and squirrels running away from it at high speed. No HAZMAT team response yet. No wonder my son is as skinny as he is, dad's cooking sucks...lol

 I'm with you!!

My mother made a massive pot of chicken noodle soup one time. My task the next day was to put in a pot to heat up for dinner. I managed to burn it :encouragement:

LOL. Usually practice makes you better at something, but cooking is a skill I guess you have to have at least a bit of talent to begin with....so I'm pretty much screwed in that regard. Every time I ask my son if he wants me to make something he usually replies with ".....Or you could stop by and get something on the way home. I don't care where." I think that's code for "please don't cook, your cooking is terrible and I'd like to eat something with some taste to it."

How about slow cooker/ crock pot meals? Basically you throw/place all the ingredients into the pot, cover and let it do its thing. They even have crock pots with timers, that way, no overcooking. Meals can be simple. Here is an easy one-- you can omit the frying of the ground beef and use a meat sauce.

First off, PLEASE do audition for it! My daughter and I love this show are are currently watching the new season. Some of these folks just seriously crack me up!

I do love to cook and am pretty good at it, but I only get to cook on weekends/vacations. I am blessed to have a hubby that also loves to cook, works from home and does most of the shopping. We are spoiled because when we do go out to eat, we spend most of the time talking about how we would have cooked it differently and for less $$.;-D

That sounds really good. I did find a brand new crock pot a couple of months ago, still in the box in one of my closets. It looks like an older model but I'm not sure where it came from....

Even an older model is perfect. Just set a timer. I've left stews cook on low over night. So many quick and simple recipes. You can also make applesauce, cobblers. A whole new world of easy cooking!

....I've told this before, but it seems OK to "re-heat" it....attempted to make "sh*t on a shingle" for myself one night....had some great Amish made dried beef, that was all good and deelish-until I attempted to make the white sauce for it.....some flour, and a little water....agghhhh!...too damn much water....well crap, have to add a little more flour....and on it went until I had a about 5 gallons of gunk that a local drywall company used to spackle with....
