China Pollution

A woman wearing a mask walk through a street covered by dense smog in Harbin, northern China, Monday, Oct. 21, 2013. Visibility shrank to less than half a football field and small-particle pollution soared to a record 40 times higher than an international safety standard in one northern Chinese city as the region entered its high-smog season. I need to go camping this summer and get back to nature again - luckily we still have lots of wide open unpolluted spaces where I live.

The pages I visit on Facebook gives me a really close-up view of the suffering in the world. I've always known there are many people in the world that barely have clean water and food to eat, but FB has brought me closer to the reality of it all.

While everyone else is sharing selfies and posting about their dinner locations or gushing about the great love they have for folks they indeed, really hate . . .I'm looking at the world through new eyes.

I am a very blessed woman.

I am a very blessed woman.

I agree! (and a compassionate one, too)

If you ever get a chance to travel I think you will get a sense of how lucky we are here in the US and Canada.

I was in Pakistan in 1995, as well as Africa, Greece, Cyprus, France etc. (and Holland) - Holland was beautiful!

The military let me go on a long range trainer with 435 Squadron.

I appreciated coming back home and realized the freedom I had, especially considering how women are treated in some countries.

(We spent one night in the Seychelles Islands - that was a true tropical paradise).
