20151205_195437.jpg Was at Menagerie ( people donate their things and profits go to animinal welfare ). They have a book area and today I found not only a book from one of my favorites but it was an advanced readers copy. Hardcovers are 1.50 and paperbacks .75. Today was half off sale so I scored the ARC For .37 cents. Not bad lol. Plus got a nice copy of Dreamcatcher for .75.

Excellent score! I don't know why anyone would just toss out an ARC!
If it's an older book people figure they're not really worth anything. I have found plenty of ARC's at used bookstores and thrift stores over the years. Found ones for Jurassic Park, The Silence Of The Lambs, The Firm, Heart Shaped Box, Delores Claiborne, Rose Madder, Bag Of Bones, Hearts In Atlantis. Never paid more than $3.00 for any of them. I think a lot of local newspapers get them sent to them for reviews and they hang onto them for a few years then decide to 'clean house'. One of my local Value Villages had about 100 of them at one point!

Wow - you've actually found SK signed books in a thrift store? My heart is in pieces on the ground! Well, I know they'll be taken care of now in your hands. The only signed book I have is a copy of Laurie Halse Anderson's Catalyst. I think I squealed when I realized it was signed. Oh wait - I do have a signed copy of Bedlam South by David Grisham (John's brother). I worked some of his signing events when I worked at Borders. I still haven't read that one - but it sounds like it might be good.

The ARC's weren't signed but I have found a perfect signed hardback copy of Insomnia at a Goodwill north of Seattle ($1.99!) and a beautiful hardback signed copy of Bag Of Bones at a Half Price Books for $5.98! ;-D

Frak - I totally forgot we were talking ARCs there, not signed books. I'm just so excited to be back on the board with my friends I can't read or type fast enough.:love_heart:
