blunthead , I don't understand this in the context of this thread. Are you taking some sort of shot against me? Sorry if this isn't the case, but my nerves are unraveled right now. PM me.

For any French or Spanish speakers. This song has transcended Spanish speaking areas in the US. The Marc Anthony version has a flavor to it that is awesome.

Never really got the hype about Frank Sinatra, I prefer most cover versions of his songs including The Deadly Syndrome's version of Young At Heart. (it sounds like it would be heavy metal, it's not, I promise)

I'm going to dust this thread off. Almost a year since anyone has posted. I heard this the other day... and I know it's been out for a while, but I'm just getting to it.

I appreciate Disturbed and their attempt, but really unnecessary IMO.

LOL! I don't know if this fits here, but it just popped into my head. I guess this is "sampling". After the music, I posted what Vanilla Ice thought about his song being different.
R.I.P. David Bowie.

I respectfully disagree with you, bryras! I LOVE Disturbed's version. It is so powerful, the way it builds. Brings the lyrics alive, at least for me, way more than the original.

I'm not a fan of Disturbed, but I like that cover. They should try some original stuff in the same style.
I like Disturbed quite a bit, they are distinctive and you always know who you're listening to, but I was quite pleasantly surprised at how well David Draiman sings without the rasp! I would like to hear more of it too, but I do love his raspy voice.

I listened to their album on the plane coming home. Or started to. Three and a half songs in, I was worn down, flicked down to "Sound of Silence," enjoyed it, and moved on to a whole different selection.

It could've just been me. I had the same reaction to David Gilmour and Bruno Mars albums. Except for David Gilmour, moving down to "Comfortably Numb," which is always a thrill for me. Now that I think about it, I wonder how a Disturbed cover of "Comfortably Numb" would sound.
