Since so many here do various crafts, I thought maybe we could help each other. Any one with questions, please post them....same for those with answers.

~~~
I gave my granddaughter a rug hooking kit last Christmas. Some people call it latch hooking. She loved it and has competed two pictures so far.
For Christmas this year she would like one big enough to make into a small rug for her bedroom floor. Just by the side of her bed.
Is there something that can be put on the bottom to make it non-slippery?
Would a regular rug mat work?
When I went to Michael's, we picked up another rug hooking kit. There is a tub of stuff you can buy to "paint" on the bottom to make it non-slip. It was about $20. (No idea how much that would be in the US.)
We decided when she finishes the picture, if she wants, we'll buy it then.
Help me choose a stocking. I have narrowed it down to these six patterns. Don't know whether it's a boy or a girl. You can click the images to see them larger.
I have a thing for snowmen, so 3 would be my vote, although I really liked 4 a lot.
I was just about to write this same sentence, but Dana Jean did it first! #3 gets my vote!
This year, for some of my gifts, I'm making wreaths with burlap ribbon, and using some cool stuff as decorations. The one I give my Mom will have daisies and roses made from newspaper and cool fabrics. I thought about making one for the BF with old fishing lures and the like.....he's into fly fishing. My question is do you think a man would like something like that?
A wreath will fit into a mans decor very nicely, especially if it is related to things he likes (fishing). I will also make a nice conversation piece when his man friends visit. I love the idea of handmade items and your wreaths sound awesome.
Yes.
My husband requested I make a stocking for him. My bil didn't request it, but was pleased when my sister made him one.
I'm a snowman fan too - but I really think I like the nutcracker best of this mix. Did they have a snowman with less snowmen? That would be my ideal. but they're all gorgeous and such a treasure to have. My aunt made one for all of her kids and grandkids and I've been jealous of them for years.
I've made at least two others with snow men.
These are the patterns I have left that I have never made, and are big enough. Actually, there are a few others, but a few are specific boy or specific girl, and one is on dark blue material, which I I can't get locally. Ordering material is to nerve wracking for me.
My sister-in-law is jealous. If her adult kids ever have kids I will offer to make stockings. But I haven't told her that.
Ayuh! I'm jealous of your not-yet-born great nieces and nephews. When we're at Aunt Margaret's and I see all those stockings I always say, "Gosh, Mom, I wished you'd made us some of those". She gives me the stink eye. A friend of mine, her mother made a christening gown from the train of her mother's wedding dress, and all of her children and grandchildren were baptized in it, and she embroiders each child's name and the date of their baptism on the inside of the gown. :swoon: Such heartfelt traditions.
