Ayuh! I'm jealous of your not-yet-born great nieces and nephews. When we're at Aunt Margaret's and I see all those stockings I always say, "Gosh, Mom, I wished you'd made us some of those". She gives me the stink eye. A friend of mine, her mother made a christening gown from the train of her mother's wedding dress, and all of her children and grandchildren were baptized in it, and she embroiders each child's name and the date of their baptism on the inside of the gown. :swoon: Such heartfelt traditions.
I am a sucker for this attention to detail. This personal thought going into something. Love it.

Me too! I thought I might do this with my wedding gown. Thank God I don't have grandchildren yet. I've got to learn how to sew!

I kept my wedding gown. I intended if I had a daughter, she could wear it. I had only sons, and so far, none have married a woman small enough to fit in it. I did offer the veil to one son's wife and she turned her nose up. Fine....whatever. Marriage lasted longer than I expected, and he's with a much nicer woman now.

Help me choose a stocking. I have narrowed it down to these six patterns. Don't know whether it's a boy or a girl. You can click the images to see them larger.

What??? No weeping angels???

lol, I guess weeping angels might be a bit too scary, and besides that, they belong at the top of the tree :)

I like the snowman pattern the best :) Don't laugh at me but... I didn't like the 5th stocking because I didn't like the way Santa was looking at the Christmas goose like it was already on the dinner table.

My husband won't let me make a weeping angel to top our tree. Now, he's gone and bought a tree that's to tall, and no angel will fit there. (maybe one with a severe case of osteoporosis)

No, we settled on a decoration that is not an angel. The tree is to big for our room, but it took two years to find a tree we both liked...so we bought it. We put a.....thing.....on top. I don't know what it's called. It's like a branch with a line cone and a bow. Looks better than it sounds, lol.
