We have high mile long bridge in my area that I cross a couple of times a day. Lately, I have been seeing a single bird perched on the railing at peak of the bridge. The bird sits on the railing looking out over the river probably waiting to dive on some unsuspecting fish. The bird is very large and I would love to snap a photo of it but there is no way I can stop on this bridge and the traffic is going 50 mph (or more) so it's hard to even get a really good look at it. It looks like an eagle but it probably is an ospry. It's very cool to see it there so often. The photo below is an Osprey.

Gorgeous!
Not such a great day for the fish, though.

I guess if I'm going to show you the bird, I should spell it right. OSPREY ;-D (why do I only notice these things when I re-read a post?)

I don't hunt and I don't like the sport, but I don't think it's necessarily evil. I do think that sometimes there are evil people who do it, however.
Like First Nations, Aboriginals or Inuit - it was part of their traditional way of life and they did it to survive - plus I think they also honoured the animal's spirits and gave thanks to them for giving up their life so they could eat.

I'd hate having to do it even if it meant my own survival, even the survival of my loved ones. I don't mean this in any kind of judgmental way. I'm just way sensitive about animals. I do eat meat, but I don't think that makes me a hypocrite.

Not a hypocrite at all. I don't think so, anyway. I eat meat, but I don't kill it. I don't know if I could. I understand that some people have to do it to eat. In the area where I live, everybody hunts. Before I moved here, I was strictly against hunting. But seeing how they do it around here has changed my mind. They eat what they kill and don't do it to be cruel. I can live with that.
