The Dark Tower series, is a story that follows a chronological story line through books

1 The Gunslinger

2 The Drawing of the Three

3 The Waste Lands

4 Wizard and Glass

5 Wolves of the Calla

6 Song of Susannah

7 The Dark Tower

The Wind through the Keyhole, is not related to the main story arc of the dark tower series, but is related to some of the characters, the fantasy, folklore and culture of the Dark Tower series. It is not necessary to read the Dark Tower series 1 – 7 before reading The wind Through the Keyhole, although the book contains a potential spoiler about the characters journey in the Dark Tower series. I recommend reading the Dark Tower books 1 – 7 before reading The Wind Through the Keyhole

Welcome! I agree; read DT in the order that they were written. As for The Wind Through the Keyhole, it's really up to you! :) You could read it after books 1-7, or read it after book 4. Wind starts with our ka-tet after the events of the fourth book.

Thank you everyone! I think when The Wind Through the Keyhole came out I was worried I'd miss something important if I read this one after all the others.

Nothing to worry about there. Wind Through the Keyhole is a standalone story. It won't make as much sense if you haven't read 1-4 because of where it takes place (the characters and situation), but otherwise it doesn't affect the rest of the saga.

Hello, I have all the books in the Dark Tower series, but haven't read them all. Now I would like to read them, but what do you suggest is the best order to read them in?
I did find the first one hard to get through as it was so different from what I was used to, but they do get better as the series goes on.

Welcome. I read WTTK first on a whim as I got a book token and decided to take a chance. After that I read Drawing of the Three which had been suggested to me as I foung The Gunslinger too hard. Read The Gunslinger AFTER DOTT and then proceded as published. Now I'm on my second Tower journey and reading in published order.
