I've noticed a good deal of Koontz discussion in various threads on here lately, so thought it would be good to revive this. :)

Currently reading Odd Hours. I've become very fascinated with Koontz lately--started trying to get all of his books in hardcover. I've also been watching some interviews of his on YouTube and he seems like such a nice guy.
...it's no act, he is very genuine...he and King are cut from the same cloth there...

Koontz could be better than King... if he didn't give up on his novels 100 pages in. It always happens, doesn't it? The beautiful prose and the engaging storyline go bananas towards page 100. Happened with Innocence, The city, By the light of the moon, and some of the odd books, to name a few.

A shame really, but I guess it is hard to keep engaged and motivated for so long being 68.
...really?...guess King will be losing his engagement and motivation next September then...and for the record, Koontz is 69...

I'm currently rereading Prodigal Son. It is the first in the Frankenstein series.

I loved this book the first time I read it, but I could not find the other books in the series. My sister loaned me the whole set.
...it's worth a straight read through...if your experience is similar to mine, you can sense and see where he lost his way after taking a break between books 3 & 4...took him a bit to get the "voice" back, but then BAM!...

Only read the first one-didn't like it as much as the Odd Thomas series (I've only read the first four so far). Do you collect Koontz books too?! ;)
I used to have all of Koontz's books but not now. I did keep all of the older ones, the HTF rare ones. I won't read a Koontz book if it has a supernaturally talented Golden Retriever in it at all anymore- I'm so-o tired of that crap!

...I do, and have all of his novels from The Funhouse on, but have a long way to go to collect his work from the 60's and early 70's...can't wait for Saint Odd...if you have a Kindle, download You Are Destined To Be Together Forever...it's an Odd short, just recently released...(and pay no mind to KRF, he's just pissed he didn't think of the brainy dog gambit)....

I read Watchers and Lightning in PB and bought HC from The Bad Place all the way to False Memory. He started to lose me after that and I gave the books away to another fan. I'm beginning to think that I out grew his work over time and I read a lot less horror and thrillers than I did twenty years ago.
