...I pre-ordered my copy on Ebay and it is a signed one!...I already have his autograph on a personal note he sent me, but thought the signed edition might be a fitting purchase for the end of the series...only ran me 32 bucks...
You lucky man! I never would have thought of that. Unfortunately, my funds are so strained I have to wait. :a17:

Here's the thing: I've tried, with an open mind, to read several Koontz books.

I haven't been able to get past page 20 with every single one.
Don't ask me which ones I tried. I can't remember which ones, and for me, that's a big deal.

Evidently Koontz and I were not meant to be bookbuddies.
I've also had big troubles with him. The only ones i've read and remembered were Lightning and Watchers, The others, 6-7 of them, just sort of passed. So, i think Koontz and i isn't a good match either.

Finally bought Saint Odd tonight! I have to read Odd Apocalypse and Deeply Odd first, though..... Oooooh! Can't wait :)

GNTLGNT -- how was it?
...I'm still in it....a bit uneven so far, but Oddie's an old friend by now-and I can forgive a few bumps in the proverbial road....I do my reading anymore, as a way to wind down from work-I read when I go to bed, and Koontz makes it easy to breeze through a few chapters of a morning...

I like Koontz very much. He introduced me to horror along with John Saul, Robert McCammon, and Peter Straub. I'm not up to date (at all) with his work now, but I always enjoyed the books of his that I did read. Demon Seed, Tick Tock, Intensity, Strange Highways, Dark Rivers of the Heart, Mr. Murder, Night Chills, and Shadowfires are all great books. The last book of his that I read was Odd Thomas. I'm not sure why I drifted away. His older books will always be nostalgic for me though.

I'm almost at page 100. Page turner so far, just had to stop cause I was tired.
...it's kinda cool to be back at the old stomping grounds...I'm just disappointed that none of his "ghost guides" are about....like Hitch, Elvis, Frank or the like-not them specifically since they've "crossed over", but at least the damn dog!...
