Good evening.

Does anyone else suffer from seasonal allergies?

My face (MY.FACE.) hurts. The top of my head pounds. (I can take my own pulse/heart rate.) I'm so congested. My head is full of mucous. I'm mouth breathing. (Please don't suggest I blow my nose. It's not productive and it makes my ears pop. Ears popping hurts as well.) Mouth breathing dries out my mouth and throat. And my lips are chapped.
The post nasal drip is disgusting. (Post nasal drip=mucous oozes, slimes, its way down the back of the throat.)
Post nasal drip (mucous) makes me gag. (Not a pretty sight.) My throat is raw. I keep trying to clear my throat and I make the weirdest sounds. (One ear is clogged so maybe it just sounds weird to me.)
Post nasal drip (mucous) does a number on my tummy (and digestive tract) (<<Don't ask.)

If mucous was oil I'd be Exxon Mobile. Ha!

So, does anyone suffer from seasonal allergies?

(I'm not supposed to take anti-histamines because they raise my BP but I'm thinking (never a good thing) my BP is soaring to new heights with the *discomfort* caused by mucous so I'm going to drop some diphenhydromine and go to bed)

I feel for ya darlin', as I got older seems I get allergic to more pollens, Spring locust pollen was a new one that was freakin' miserable.
But right now I'm surrounded by all manner of my usual late summer snotguns and I'm not too bad...perhaps the locust cured me..oh god it wants me all to itself

Poor Sig! Thankfully I seem to have outgrown my allergies. I was miserable with them until I was 35ish and then it just stopped. I'm grateful. Sorry you're feeling poorly. You made me think of SpongeBob when he had the suds

I have suffered from extreme allergies and asthma my entire life. The ONLY upside I've always tried to hold onto is that I became an avid reader because I was stuck indoors so much.

I don't get allergies but have had several operations on my sinuses. Being blocked up is horrid and at one point my mucus flood were biblical. I feel your pain.

Poor Sigs!! I have many friends and coworkers who are suffering.

Poor Siggy!!! I have some allergies.... Mostly against pollen which can make spring a time when i go around weeping with red eyes all the time. Also against cathair.... At least some cats hair but it is futile , i cant withstand these little furry creatures anyway so i reach down and scratch them knowing i might be paying for it later. But they are just so darn cute!!!

Would a Neti pot help with your stuffiness? I know it helps me. It washes out the allergens if you use it on a daily basis until the season has folded. Hope you are feeling better soon. I know the misery you are suffering. I would check with your physician for some suggestions of meds that you can take as Mz. Spidey has noted.

...as has been noted, get thee to a pharmacy and get the HBP varieties....no need to suffer, most of this crap is self-limiting, so you just have to have a way to combat the symptoms while the gunk floats about...
