Most of the things that have happened to me have come in dreams. I dream about people who have passed away, they tell me things and ask me to deliver messages to loved ones. I used to ignore them, but now I feel like, for instance, if my mom tells me to tell my sister something, I had better do it, no matter how off the wall it sounds.
I've ignored these dreams before and then the thing happens I feel like... I'm a little responsible. So I'd rather tell someone something and look like a nut than not and they wind up in trouble, or worse.
Every once in a while a loved one of a friend of mine will want me to say hi to the said friend.... So I'm like, hey Bob, your Uncle Chuck who used to live in Saskatoon told me to say hi and he likes your new girlfriend. I get, okay, but how did you know I had an Uncle Chuck. I just shrug and try to act normal LOL. Sometimes I pass on, passing the message if I don't know the person well enough to say that kind of bat-sh!t to.
Sometimes I'll dream of people who have died and they just want to chat, they stop by to let me know they are okay, or tell me a personal secret they want to get off their chest. Those are just freebees, nothing for me to do but listen. Not all of the things I've been told, or warned about have come true, but I'd say a good 7 out of 10 have so....
I've had a few experiences while wide awake too, but only a few, and I'm good with that. I'm not afraid of the dearly departed, not even a little. It's the other guys that scare me. I don't know what malevolent spirits are, but I don't want them anywhere near me. They don't bother me anymore, so I won't bother them.
I used to see them when I was a kid, and they are not to be trifled with.
Boy the more I talk the crazier I sound... so folks, that's it for now. :a11:

Not to me, Patricia. I have "dreamt" for want of a better term, when old friends died. It's happened several times, now. One, when my first boyfriend died, was more of an out-of-body experience. It was intense. I also get messages from people I don't know but they are very different. Most of the time, there is nothing I can do for them. So I just accept it and move on.

There are more things in heaven and earth....

The logical, rational mind doesn't accept the construct of ghosts easily.

The logical, rational mind also acknowledges that things exist that don't apply to a being's sense of logic. Heck, it was logical to believe that the sun and stars revolved around the earth.

I and others around me have experienced ghost-type things that I can ascribe different explanations to, but a ghostly explanation would be the simpler and mire direct explanation. But I generally don't go that route out of a sense of logic and rationality.

The logical, rational mind doesn't want to be biased. But it might also countenance the notion that a drive for logic and rationality is in itself a bias.

Aptly put. "The universe is under no obligation to make sense to you" ~Neil deGrasse Tyson
One of my favorite quotes btw.

I posted earlier in the thread about where I was at that time of 'things happening'.

A very recent loss led to memories and I found one of many pictures of the house on the internet.
In this image, it has gone back to neglect again. I have driven by it in this state and it's a shame. It was grand looking when I lived there.

Entire third floor was mine. It had spooks.

Thank you.

It rocks steady. Well built. It will be back. The back of house, 1743. Front - 1846.

It's on the Historical Register. They wont let it go down.
....someday, when you are ready to share, I would love to hear your entire story....not to eke out suffering from you, but because the subject fascinates me.....

Grandpa, you're reminding me of Van Helsing. The real Van Helsing, the one that debuted in Bram Stoker's Dracula.

I can't remember word for word what he said, but it was basically being logical about what was right in front of your eyes. If you've ruled out every other possibility, and if the only possibility that's left is insane, then you go down the insane road because it is the logical thing to do.

Or something like that.

My daughter believed in ghosts , so I got her to watch Most Haunted (a 'factual' ghost hunting programme here in the UK) . She doesn't believe anymore ;)
that's a joke I stole from Viz adult comic. Derek Acorah, the presenter, has been outed as a charlatan on a few occasions, been a non believer , and knowing he's a con artist, makes the show quite comical to watch.
