I often mix what is american and what is english. Which word and and phrases that belongs in the right place so to speak. Written texts i mean. the pronunciation is quite different. The languages are very related (swedish and english i mean) so there is a lot of words that are very similar. Biggest difference, and hardest to learn, ae the names of plants and animals.

Humans are trainable (gullible). When I'm out I see people constantly walking around using smartphones. It's comical and very sad. The other day I overheard a co-worker telling his iPhone to remind him to set his thermostat at home. I gave him one of my "You are a stupid, smucker!" looks.
One of my favorite funny things is seeing someone riding a bike and talking on their cell phone. Talk about looking stupid!!

....ever wonder?....

-If money doesn't grow on trees then why do banks have branches?
-Once you're in heaven, do you get stuck wearing the clothes you were buried in for eternity?
-What did cured ham actually have?
-Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground?

I do wonder how it is that humanity can be so much more busy than 30 years ago. It must be the technology that is available to everyone. We spend far too much time texting, tweeting and emailing inane bullsh!t, that e never have enough time to get any work done. I have a big a$$ smart phone but it is turned off as soon as I'm done working.

Our son who is "back home" for the time being and his phone is very attached to him. It almost seems as if he has it secured with an invisible rubber band as it will suddenly appear out of nowhere. Usually when he takes a break from his X Box.

I can't lie, this whole phone thing and young people's attraction to instant gratification makes me think if I write things, no one will read them. When I was a kid, reading was still a pretty big deal for entertainment. Nowadays, everything is all like " LOL BRB TTYL K? " When I write, since I'm not used to writing in 140 characters or less, people always think I write too much. I don't like text messaging and social networking changing the inside of peoples brains until they reject large masses of text as unfathomable. Young people don't even learn cursive handwriting in school anymore I have heard. I dream of a future where a group of young hipsters suddenly decide to " bring back books, " and cursive handwriting. That would be fine to me. " LOL! "
