I will admit, at first I was very much against the idea of e-books. That was until the lady my mom takes care of said that she could not read if it were not for her Kindle. This lady has trouble with her arms, it got to the point where it became too painful for her to lift a book to read. Yet having a Kindle changed that and it is so much easier for her.

While I still love a physical book, there are good things about e-books too.

Am I weird in the fact that I don't like the spines on my books to be broken? All my books have to look pristine. I don't lend books that I want to keep as they never come back in the same condition. It's just me, isn't it! I am just strange when it comes to books!

I do not lend my books either. I'm just upfront about that with everyone. I'm sure they think I'm being a snob, but my books are my diamonds, my sapphires, my rubies -- how many women loan those things out?

Books , old school like all the ingredients that go into a book, love the smell the feel of a new book love going in on release day and buying the new SK book in hardback or paperback. I had a kindle, but it didnt do it for me. I just prefer the physical book - and i am a qualifed programmer. :)

Another weird fact about me : I dedicate whole shelves to my favourite authors. My absolute favourites are in my lounge and the other authors are in various bookcases in rooms all over the house (I don't have a large house, just a lot of bookcases!). Ideally, if I ever win the lottery, I should buy a house with a very, very large room that I could have fitted out with floor to ceiling shelves and have my own library/reading room. I could buy even more books then! Bliss!

I certainly would love to have a room like that. It would be my king room.
