That's interesting... I had thought contests of chance were considered lotteries in Canada and only contests in which a skill or talent were involved were ok.

Nevermind... I don't know what I'm talking about about lol. I have no idea why it was ok. On another site I go to, Burger King offered promotional prizes to both Canadians and USA residents but not to other countries... Maybe there was some kind of agreement between Canada and USA?

I was checking my Facebook page. There is a post by a Canadian organization (a legitimate organization which does a lot of good work) and they posted a link to a contest. I clicked, and.....it's open to US residents only. I looked around, and the contest is not run by this Canadian organization. They were just posting the link. (Just like the contest here isn't being run BY Stephen King but his page posted a link.)

It's funny....in a sad sort of way.

Yikes, I saw this on FB and boy, some people get SO MAD. I dont get it...us Kiwis are never allowed to enter anything, in fact half the time (slight exaggeration but often) we cant open links and videos as they are not allowed in our area...I dont understand the knotting of the knickers, on the subject..

@Winter people really do get so angry on the Internet don't they. Often over a prize they wouldn't want anyway. I will sometimes comment (with a sad face) that it's only available in the US, to save people in other countries from wasting time. Often, you can spend ten minutes filling everything out before it pops up a message that it's only available in the US. Not everyone reads the rules.

The page I mentioned above...the Canadian organization....they didn't realize the contest was for US only. Since they are specifically set up to work in Canada, petitioning the Canadian government and Canadian schools, it wasn't an appropriate link because at least 90% of their "likes" are Canadians. But, someone (not me) said "to bad there's no contest like this in Canada" and the organization has started a conversation about running one. But, I'll point out, nobody got rude with them.

As for videos not available, often they can be found on YouTube. I get blocked by CNN and BBC.
