Doc of the Dead. Fair to middlin overview of the zombie genre, with great production values and 'star' unput. I enjoyed this one!

I just watched this one too. I thought it was a pretty interesting overview of zombie culture. I also enjoyed it.

The Buena Vista Social Club - Poignant. Ry Cooder. Cuban charm. Great music. What more could you ask for?
"Christmas in Yellowstone" - narrated by Linda Hunt. Part of PBS' Nature. Watch for the red fox hunting mice. Christmas in Yellowstone - Introduction - Winter in Yellowstone National Park | Nature | PBS
Grey Gardens - I think someone already mentioned it - almost unbelievable.
"Siberian Tiger Quest" - another installment on PBS' Nature series. Quite an achievement on the part of Sooyong Park. Watch Siberian Tiger Quest Online | Full Episode | Nature | PBS
Saving Pelican #895 - about cleaning up the coastal Louisiana wildlife after the BP oil spill.
Friends of God: A Roadtrip with Alexandra Pelosi - tours red state America examining the practices, politics and beliefs of fundamentalist evangelical Christians. Proves that you can't say "fundamental" without saying "mental".

I watched Grey Gardens at someone else's suggestion. Sorry, can't remember who that was but it's further back in the thread. It was shameful. What I say about it is buried here somewhere if you're interested.

Next up is TINY, I think. We live pretty small, but I'm interested in the REALLY small--once the kids are gone, we've talked about having a tiny cabin somewhere.

TINY is very interesting. I've been fascinated with the tiny house movement for a long time now. The house I live in now is pretty small, but not TINY small. I couldn't do it I don't think. Nope. Pretty sure I couldn't. But it would be nice to have one in the backyard as a little getaway, like a play house for an old lady.

Like Joanne Harris' writing 'shed'--I'd love one of those :)

I couldn't do it. No McMansion for me, either....but living in 150 sq. ft.? Hell, no.

Watched "How Beer Saved The World" followed by "How Booze Built America." Really interesting and informative takes on the subject matter. All I can say after watching them is viva la alcohol!

The Battered Bastards Of Baseball (2014) - Kurt Russell

I think this is a netflix original and is playing on netflix right now.

Kurt Russell's dad, Bing started an independent minor league baseball team in Portland, Oregon in 1973. The team played better than most of the major league affiliated teams and really got under the skin of Major League Baseball. The team was actually in the Pacific league with the major league affiliates (which is now forbidden by MLB). It's an amazing tale that I had never heard. The Portland Mavericks broke all kinds of minor league attendance records. Kurt even played at least one game for them (it wasn't really clear if it was a one time thing for publicity or not but Kurt Russell did actually play minor league baseball in his early 20s).

Finally watched TINY. I quite liked it, aside from the side effect of re-energizing The Man's long held desire to have a cabin :p It was pretty interesting to see the differing definitions of 'tiny': anywhere from 100 sq. ft to 500 sq. ft. Our house is pretty damned small by modern standards (in our area)--about 1900 sq. ft.--but it's palatial compared to the ones on the documentary.

The Punk Singer is worth a viewing if you are not familiar with Kathleen Hanna. And even if you are.
