My Flesh and Blood (2003)

This is my most favourite doco ever!

"Susan Tom has a very special family. For over a decade, she's raised 11 adopted children, all of whom have some sort of mental or physical disability. A former nurse who endured heartbreak of her own, Susan has devoted her entire life to caring for and providing for her children. Among them are Joe, a moody teenager with cystic fibrosis, and Anthony, who was born with a rare and painful skin disease. Through birthdays, doctor visits and family feuds, Susan is the family's rock."

I'm unsure of whether I am alloud to provide a link to the full doco, but it's easy to find on Youtube if you just type in the name.

Best to just name full length programs so that people can search for them if they wish, just to be on the safe side of copyright.

This sounds like a good one btw.

The Newspaperman: The Life and Times of Ben Bradlee

This one is very good and extremely interesting. The absolute corruption of the White House and Nixon is what we are seeing in today's White House. The smear campaign aimed at the media. Trying to discredit the media.

I am watching the Vietnam War documentary also and I am on the episode where Nixon et al show how disgusting they were. So, to watch the Bradlee documentary about the same time frame from a different source gave a nice well rounded picture of the corruption at the highest levels.

Voyeur

This is on Netflix. VERY interesting stuff. Creepy, disturbing --True?

Gay Talese found himself in hot water with this one.

Voyeur review: Creepy Netflix documentary is well worth a watch | EW.com
I watched this over the weekend. The first half hour I had the strongest deja vu sensation. I'm convinced I saw this on YouTube months ago. Anyway, I felt bad for Gerald, even though it was wrong what he did. The aftermath of Talese's article seemed like it took a toll on Gerald and Anita. I enjoyed the whole thing. Gay Talese is an alumnus of University of Alabama. I want to read Thy Neighbor's Wife.

There is a free documentary on YouTube called Just melvin, Just evil. It's very easy to find if you just search the name Just Melvin, Just Evil. It does deal with some heavy themes but it shows how one man van tear a family through generations apart. I enjoyed this documentary.

I watched RUSH: Time Stand Still

This was a really good look at the band and their dedicated fans. I like these guys. And Neil Peart is a good writer, I've read a couple of his books and they are well done.

Someday, we're going to have this last concert moment with Stephen because he shuts his work down. He has said he will always write, but how long with he have a public presence? In watching these people, (who have followed the band for years and years), breakdown with real sorrow and still just be thankful for the time they had -- I know this is how I will feel about our author guy.

My favorite RUSH song:

twenty two

It's a documentary about how Japanese soldiers in WWII captured Chinese women and made them "comfort women." There were only twenty two of these thousands of sex slaves left and they were trying to document their stories. As far as the documentary, you won't get any salacious details. In fact, details are pretty nonexistent. But, there is a very brutal and stark beauty in the documentary, a lot is conveyed with very little talking.

I watched a three hour documentary about The Eagles on Netflix. It contains many concert clips and interviews from the '70s and singers such as Linda Ronstadt, Kenny Rogers, Jackson Browne, and Bob Seger share their own history with the band. Band members reflect on old feuds and funny moments and personal biographies, of course. I liked it.
