I don't understand why this is so hard to get off the ground. I get that it's a big undertaking, but I feel like with the right cast, it would be a slam-dunk. I'm still lobbying for Josh Holloway as Roland, Lupita Nyong'o as Susannah, and Aaron Paul as Eddie.
I'm surprised it's getting off the ground at all.
Seriously, think about it. King's movies haven't ever really been blockbusters. They've been good, they've been ok, they've been made-for-tv garbage. So why would some studio exec put up hundreds of millions of dollars (and that's how much it would cost to do this right) for something that isn't guaranteed to be a blockbuster worth that kind of money.
Don't get me wrong. I want to see the films. But they're going to disappoint hardcore fans in some way or another.
