What surprised me in this episode was...
I was surprised Spratt helped out Denker. I was also surprised Violet gave Denker another chance. Was Denker ever a sympathetic character in prior seasons? She needs to learn her place (which is NOT something I would ever think about anyone in real life lol)

It occurred to me that Steve would have liked that scene and there may have been a few people thinking it was "like something out of a Stephen King novel." :smile2:

Cujo Meets British Aristocracy :) I'd read it! :)

Spratt only did so to protect himself. They haven't liked each other right from the beginning and he would have been thrilled to have her gone. She has not been a sympathetic character at all. She's been portrayed as manipulative and conniving. Spratt has been with Violet for a long time and his argument about finding good lady's maids is probably what convinced her to keep Denker.

Thanks for the background :)

My theory about the rest of the season has changed:
I had thought that the Carsons would "retire" and the Bates' would become butler/head housekeeper but now I'd bet anything that Anna's baby will be just fine :) so I'm thinking she will plan on staying home to raise her child.
I think it's obvious that Daisy and the young man who is learning to be a pig farmer will end up together. Not sure if Thomas is scheming when offering to teach him to read or being sincere.
If Thomas is sincere that sets everything up nicely for him (Thomas) to be the new butler.
Edith and Mary will end up with their new "friends". Not sure about Branson, but he's always been one of my favorite characters. He's just so darn cute with his baby face and accent.
My theories change each week but I'm so glad I haven't read any spoilers of upcoming episodes yet.

I know I do that too. ;;D
I think Thomas is sincere about teaching Daisy's young man how to read, and I'm thinking more and more that Thomas will wind up as the new butler. I'm also thinking there might be some romance brewing with Patmore and Daisy's father in law... can't think of his name.
I'm thinking Mary and Edith will wind up mending their relationship, becoming close friends. Now that Mary is starting to catch on about Marigold, she may see Edith in a different light. Especially since Edith has stopped being an unbearable brat... for the most part.
The rest, well I'm too wishy washy about everything else to foresee what else I think will happen.

i keep waiting for the price to come down some.
Me too. I usually don't bother with buying TV shows. I'm usually over it by the time the show is over. This is an exception. BBC is like that. They put crack in their air waves! Danged Brits.
This guy I work with loves BBC as much as I do. He in all seriousness once said that if the English had won the Revolution, that we would have way better TV shows in this country. I laughed at him and he didn't understand why. =D

Well, if it's not there tomorrow, I'm gonna try not to be too upset. I let stuff like this get the best of me and it's not worth the anxiety. If it's meant to be...
Just hope if I don't snag it, it is bought by someone who will really enjoy it and not some schmuck who just wants to sell it on ebay.

Naw, don't sweat it. We'll all wait it out together. Good luck though, sending bargain vibes yer way!
