Boy howdy, if I didn't already think that living with someone before you got married was a good idea, Carson would have changed my mind. Hubby knew I couldn't cook long before we made our marriage legal lol.

I have more questions :(

What is Carson's problem with Barrow? And why does he think it's any of his business that Barrow came out of Andrew's room?

And what is Daisy's problem with Mrs Patmore and Mason?

And who is the guy who appears forth from the left in the photo? And does he have something to do with whoever it is who went to prison?

Carson best cut the belly-aching about her cooking or Hughes is going to go medieval on him. I see it brewing. She is going to snap.
Happy to help you out with your questions. I included a wiki link about Molesley.

*Carson has a problem with Barrow being gay. That answers both parts of the question.
*She's just being jealous. Mason is her father-in-law. Daisy's husband was killed in the war.
*That's Mr. Molesley Joseph Molesley - Downton Abbey Wiki - Wikia

Thank you :biglove: I had no idea Molesley played such a big part in the series.

My take on the Carson/Barrow thing...

Barrow has been a conniving liar/schemer from day one. First with O'Brien (former ladies' maid to Lady Grantham) and then with whoever else he could pull into his conspiracies. Once a season or so, the writers give him a storyline or scene that makes him seem like less of an a**hole.
I agree with Patricia A that Carson doesn't approve of Thomas being gay (but he wouldn't approve of any staff sneaking in and out of each other's rooms during the night...there is a locked door separating the female staff from the males), but I think that's secondary to Thomas' attitude an behavior he's shown over the years..

True dat.
Yes I did rather over simplify the Barrow/Carson thing. Barrow has been a stinker on a lot of levels that don't have anything with him being gay. But I still think even if Barrow hung the moon Carson would still have a low opinion of him. Their Facebook relationship status would be "complicated."

can someone tell me why the dowager went to that young lady and what they talked about ? My cable froze up on and off throughout tonight's show and that was one of the moments.

ooh that was good. Violet saw through her act and realized the girl wanted Isobel and Lord Merton together because she was afraid of having to play nurse to her future father in law. She admitted this to Violet after briefly denying any ulterior motives.

Between Downton Abbey, The Walking Dead, and Castle, my dvr was busy last night. I havn't watched anything yet. Hubby doesn't like any of those shows so we watch The Simpsons and Family Guy. The only new show I watch that he likes is Lucifer. I'm going to go watch Downton Abbey, see y'all later :)
I am recording the newest Castle episodes - so - what do you think? Is it as interesting now as it used to be in the past?

I miss the humor of the courtship but I still love the show. Castle's approach to solving crime makes me smile and Esposito and Ryan are always good for a few laughs :) I don't think The Big Bang Theory is as funny since Leonard and Penny got married though.

Has Carson learned a lesson? lol... he lost a bit of his stuffiness

Michelle Dockery is an amazing actress.
Watchinglast night's episode, I could feel Lady Mary wanting to spill that secret long before it happened. The look on her face and her body language. You would really think she despises
the actress who plays Lady Edith
in real life.
Branson saw it coming too and looked liked he wanted to throttle her.
My husband wanted to see her get slapped, but I reminded him that
Edith's no saint. She made public the fact that the Turk died in Lady Mary's bed.
.......
The whole thing with the B&B was so funny. Poor Mrs. Patmore, what was she supposed to do, ask couples for a marriage certificate before accepting them??

I can't believe only one episode left and it's not being aired for 2 weeks!!! Ugh!!!

WTH.
Mary pull this sh*t on me and she'd regret playing with me. What a hateful b*tch. Poor Edith. I am hoping the guy went away to think, but comes back with a who give's a f*** and marries her anyway.
That's what I'm hoping, too, and if they don't I may just hunt Julian Fellowes down. ;-D
I knew as soon as Mary figured out that Marigold was Edith's that it was just a matter of time before she used it against her but even for her that was despicable. I'm glad Tom told her off and didn't hold back about it. I think that really made her think twice along with Violet's talk. It just p*ssed me off, though, that Mary got married and poor Edith was left on the losing end...again. :glare:

Has Mary ever suffered the consequences for her cruelty?

80sFan I can't believe there's only one episode left either... I've just gotten into it! and now it's almost over :(
Not directly that I can remember.

I can't believe there's only one episode left either and having a hard time imagining how they're going to wrap it all up.
