An unlicensed immigrant took an illegal wide, 3 lane u-turn on a red light on Thursday, which caused a chain reaction accident, which involved my new freaking car!

Why do people get behind the wheel when they don't even understand what the frick they're doing?!?
I'm sorry about your car, Cat--was everybody okay? (I hope you won't have to pay for any repairs either..)

Yes, everyone was fine. Hubby took the car that morning to run some errands, and fill it up for me. It did damage my bumper. He felt so bad. Hubby, I mean. Not the driver who caused it, he kept trying to leave the scene. That driver's wife was both licensed and insured, so they get the bill...why the heck she wasn't driving to begin with, I don't know.

But, yes, the most important thing is that everyone was ok.

Hubby even put the police officer on the phone with me, to make sure I understood it wasn't his fault. (Still not quite sure how that makes me feel...it sure made me sound like a shrill nag. ;-D) The officer said to me, "He told me it was your new car and he didn't even want to tell you about it, but it was not his fault. So don't dot his i's for him when he gets home." Normally, I am not very quick-witted, but I responded, "Well, it is Christmas. I guess I'll let him slide." Made the officer laugh pretty hard. ;-D
