Andy has a Durango and does not drive all that fast. I notice when we are out together you will get these little zippy Hondas and Toyotas that will speed up and pass you, and sometimes you'll hear a little "meep" sound from their horns.

He is rather cautious at this time of year due to the snow and ice - he learned to drive in the UK where the climate is much milder.

The cold weather does something to drivers. As does a high cholesterol, high sugar diet.
... and texting while driving, or drinking coffee, or smoking or chatting with the passenger, playing with the radio etc. - I tell you - it's a Jungle out there!

:icon_eek: Look at Mr. King - that driver ran him over because he was distracted by a dog in the back of his van.

I think talking on a cell phone and driving should be illegal everywhere (it is in our city).

Taking my kids shoe shopping several years ago, I pulled off the highway into a parking lot and ran into a woman's car. She was sitting in her car as she saw my vehicle approaching and just stopped, I however was looking in the backseat at my kids and paying no attention to my driving :anonymous:.
Luckily I was only traveling about 5 miles and hour, when my oldest son said "MOM LOOK OUT", well it was just a nano second too late, I ran into the front of this woman's car. She had what looked like a rug burn on her forhead from the visor which had come down, and her husband came to the scene, and the cops came, and we exchanged information. She turned down EMS services, I didn't receive any ticket but my insurance of course paid for her damages. I felt so bad, I was crying, my kids were giving me a hard time about it, anyhooo this lady's husband says to me "don't be so upset, we needed a new car anyhow". Fast forward two years later, I am home for my lunch break, I hear a knock at my door...it's our county sheriff who is serving me a subpoena, because I am being SUED! I didn't even recognize the name on the darn thing as anyone I had ever met. Scared me to death!! It ended up being her suing me in court for huge bodily damages she sustained due to the accident. It was a 12 man jury trial...I have only received one speeding ticket in my life...so this jury trial thing scared me bad! As it turned out, the jury voted 11-1 against this woman's claims and she ended up having to pay lawyer fees, etc.

That is good - it's a shame though that she put you through all the stress of a trial!

I saw this sticker on a car bumper the other day...made me laugh, wondering if people who tailgate bother to read it.

I love to drive, but you'll rarely catch me on an interstate. Especially in Baton Rouge. You'll be driving along minding your own business, then out of nowhere, there's four more lanes to your right and you're in the middle. I barking HATE that. Especially if my exit's coming up and I have to get over to the right again.
Nay. I'll find a way to get where I'm going on surface roads once I'm over the bridge, thanks.

I liked to drive in Fort Mac but not in Edmonton...hab mercy. When I walk, I get scared if I am in a parking lot of some business and I see a very old person backing out or in. We have had too many accidents...some fatal...in my neighbourhood because folks are too stubborn to give up driving when they know they should. I hate being in a car with a driver showing road rage. A dear friend of mine is like this and I would rather be in with a drunk driver lol.
