Drunken Fireworks For Real

So sorry for this young man's family. Unfortunately, my first thought was, "Here's the Darwin award winner for the year."
"Alcohol was involved" and "Darwin Award" I'm embarrassed to say were my first thoughts before the empathy for the victim and family and friends kicked in when I heard the news report last night.
It sounds like his brother was the first at his side afterwards, I thought that was awful...
Alcohol and fireworks seldom mix well.
(I can remember some pretty stupid stunts at Guy Fawkes time when I was a kid... all the grown ups were drinking during the fireworks, it's a wonder more people weren't hurt or killed.)

Sounds like they tried to talk him out of it as well. We used to shoot bottle rockets at each other when we were kids..... yeah we were stupid.
Beer bottles? (Those sky rockets were so cool!)
No....no we were wee nippers. We used to shoot them out of the handlebars on our bicycles. I never drank a beer until I was of legal age...............yes.......let's go with that......

Talk about going out with a bang!! It is so incredible stupid that i have difficulty believing it has actually happened. Don't matter how drunk i was i would not do that.

They (along with friends of theirs) actually blew up my brother's metal dump truck one year, he was devastated.

The strongest "firecracker" we could get our hands on was an M-80. Ashcans were also fun as were Cherry Bombs. A wonder I have all my digits still seeing as how much stuff we used to blow up.
