The strongest "firecracker" we could get our hands on was an M-80. Ashcans were also fun as were Cherry Bombs. A wonder I have all my digits still seeing as how much stuff we used to blow up.

I remember M-80's. All the boys had them while I was growing up.

I stuck with sparklers and maybe the ash snake. But we still found ways to get in trouble with them.

In third grade, one of my class mates lost four fingers to an M-80. When it failed to explode after he threw it, he thought it was a dud, and picked it back up. It exploded in his hand, taking all but the pinky finger with it.

I consider myself very lucky. We used to put those things in bottles, cans, mailboxes :)icon_eek:), trash cans and other things. The shrapnel alone could have done some serious damage.
