I can hardly tolerate the way that these two parents are talking about this subject. Good Lord! They were acting like because he touched them through their clothes it was not as bad. Who Cares! It was molestation at any age is wrong.

EACH TIME HE CAME AND TOLD US CRYING...(Argh! If this is true, IF, he went to the parents and was crying he was asking for help/stop me/protect my sisters) and those fools did nothing. (I shudder to think what the daughters were thinking/feeling when the parents did not protect them the THREE times)

I hate, absolutely hate child abusers in general. But when they hide behind extreme religion to get away with their filthy habits, it's makes me see red. Relgion is supposed to be something safe, something that inspires us to be better people. And this...slime turns it into a personal playhouse to brainwash and torment children.
I have personal experience with this type of behavior-my stepfather was an "elder" in the church, a respected old fart, but hid behind the cloak of religion to get away with some real evil. Which makes me loathe child abusers that much more. I know you never heal from betrayal like that.

I don't even know where to start with this pile of crap they are spewing. I could spend all day going over it point by point, but I have a headache coming that will rival the d@mn apocalypse when it gets here, and it's got "Please God, tell me everyone else sees through this, too?" written all over it.
Not to get all drama-grabby, but I have my own personal experience with sexual abuse in the home that's "not really abuse because he felt really bad about it (each time), and it's not like you were raped at gunpoint or anything, and he made his peace with the Lord and his sins are Washed Clean in the Blood of the Lamb." I was really, really, really hoping that wasn't the case here, because it is way too often.
That was even part of their excuse during the interview. They'd shared with friends, and worse things had happened in their homes, so they didn't think it was all that bad. Yeah. Well by that rationale anyone who kills fewer than 12 million people is off the hook, because the Hitler guy really ratcheted up the baseline in the 40s.
One time, in one home, is too many, and everyone involved should have been appalled that nothing was being done. Not comparing stories and easing each other's burdens!
The added pain in these stories are that these girls are told that nothing that happens to them matters, and their needs are not important. But on the other hand they are told that even one sexual touch before marriage makes them worthless and sinful, so now when the family decides to keep it all hush hush, why do you suppose the girls think that is? Because while what their brother did wasn't bad enough to merit serious punishment, the embarrassment of what's happened to them is grave enough to warrant lies and secrecy for the rest of their lives.
And, BOOM, welcome to the Club of Survivors of Sexual Abuse in Religious Families. That shame you feel about yourself, and sex, and your worthiness to be happy just being you? That serves as your membership badge. No need printing an actual one up, you already feel like everyone can see it all over your face.
I could go on, but like I said way too many people already totally get what I'm saying, and I've got Migrainageddon in the mail (the meds are on their way, too, and then sleep. I will be okay, no worries.)
The Duggar kids can still end up happy. I am. I even have a pretty good relationship with the God situation. None of this is a death sentence.
I just hope they get some distance, and some REAL help, and I hope their parents pull their heads out of Jesus' @ss and stop making excuses. It's time to practice the love and compassion He teaches, and take care of those kids.

Also, just to add. I don't know if anyone else mentioned this, but in the Bible, New Testament I believe, it says something to the effect of; any person who would hurt a child would be better off tying a stone around his neck and jumping into the ocean. Which indicates, in my opinion, that adults of any gender are expected to have the wisdom to protect the innocent, and if they don't, they should off themselves. Just my understanding, of course, but do these psychotic idiots ever think of that when they're spewing their drivel?

Yeah, it doesn't seem to say anything in there about only having to protect the children if you're a mandated reporter, either. But, the Duggars seem to be cherry-picking scriptures that allow them to feel all judgy about other people, while neglecting the beam in their own eye. Also Matthew, chapter 7...one I have been thinking real hard about today because I feel sick about calling out the sins of others.
But man, sometimes it's just hard to stick to my own beam. I know the Duggars will be sorted out, hopefully sooner than later. I know they will. But it's so hard to watch them say this stuff and know other kids in other families are watching and being reinforced, "See, even TV people do this, and it's okay!"
