Seems science many have been wrong these last 40 years, as dietary cholesterol could bear little impact on a person’s risk of heart disease.

“Cholesterol is not considered a nutrient of concern for overconsumption.” Yeah baby!

Eggs, shrimp, butter and cheese... GO FOR IT!

Show me the salt!

I’m having bacon, eggs and toast with real butter tomorrow for breakfast in celebration. And I many throw in some scrapple just for good measure. :)

Cholesterol Might Not Be a 'Nutrient of Concern' in New Dietary Guidelines

Scrapple! Many moons ago, I worked at the Dutch Pantry Family Restaurant and scrapple was a prominent part of the cuisine. Can't tell you how many times I explained what scrapple was to people passing through!
LOL. I would have loved to see the looks on those faces when you told them Scrapple is typically made of hog offal, such as the head, heart, liver, and other trimmings, which are boiled with any bones attached (often the entire head), to make a broth. Once cooked, bones and fat are discarded, the meat is reserved, and cornmeal is boiled in the broth to make a mush. The meat, finely minced, is returned to the pot and seasonings are added. The mush is formed into loaves and allowed to cool thoroughly until set.

Or did you just tell them it’s made from the leftover scraps of butchered meat that nobody in their right mind would normally eat, and made into a mish-mashed edible cube? :)

If cholesterol gets its nutritional exoneration, that doesn’t give you license to swap your steel-cut oatmeal for five-egg, bacon-wrapped omelets. “We do not have evidence that people who eat more eggs have less heart disease,” says Katz. “But we do have evidence that people who eat more whole grains have less heart disease.” Eggs are safe to add to a heart-healthy diet, but don’t count on eggs to be the cornerstone.
...dietary and blood cholesterol are two different things, there are still trans-fats and such that can jack your blood cholesterol all out of whack, increasing your chances for health related "events"...OK, nursing stethoscope off...pass me the deep fried lard and some pork gravy wouldja???.....

My doc ate a whole carton of eggs once...and never apologized. He was from England. Lovely fellow. Anyway, I have company tomorrow and I hate making breakfast...even at work, I hated to be doing the breakfast shift....too little...too much ...not enought time. How boring!!!!!! Tomorrow, I have friends coming from NE Alberta. I need to make breakfast so I planned this day accordingly. I make up some Beignet dough which I kept in the fridge for several days. I will fry this and dump some icing sugar on it and sprinkle a little cinnnamon , too. I will make fluffy buttered eggs and offer a strawberry confit. If my relatives do not like this....well fug it lol. I will, also, offer a crossaint with a bowl full of fruit as in...blue berries, raspberries, blackberries, cantaloupe and watermelon. All of this with coffee..

We always had scrapple when I was a kid. With ketchup. Till I found out what it was.

(the description under the image read, "breakfast pork scraps" :cower:)
Growing up, we got our scrapple from an old butcher who had the shop on his farm. He believed in wasting nothing. Critters that plagued his farm got added to his scrapple mix... Possum, groundhog, squirrel, rabbit. Tre yum. :)
