This made me literally laugh out loud.
I have insanely mixed feelings about this... on the one hand, do you KNOW how long most of us have waited/wanted DT to be in cinemas?! I'm excited someone finally took this bull by the horns. I guess, also, that this is where my...er...misgivings come into play as well. I want to see it done well. I don't really have a problem with Elba, insofar as the color of his skin, because honestly I couldn't care less about that. What I'm worried about is how he'll portray Roland. You know, the emotionlessly dead-pan features, the piercing mile-long stare, and the Idgaf attitude. I'm not sure Elba is the right fit for that persona. His face always looked far too expressive for me, and while he's a great actor, the roles he has played so far haven't given me a good enough glimpse at his acting chops to tell if he can pull it off.
The DT is, to me, something sacred, and I don't want to see it flubbed. I'd rather it not see the big screen, than see it make it and be a hollow shell of what it's meant to be, if that makes any sort of sense...my two cents.

Oh I just bet they're going to dumb down a LOT of the mystical elements for the movie.
...I hold the wolves at bay till I see it....have to keep telling myself, "it's just a movie".....

Okay, putting aside the fact the I KNOW this will not (never!) be as good as the books, I will say the same thing as when I first saw the leaked trailer:

On the bright side...if the movie does well...my copies of DT will go up in value! ...Scratch that... since I still can't afford a full Signed Limited set yet, perhaps I should be hoping the movie tanks! LOL
look, i think the man is ace as Luther , i dig his menace. i think he is a great entertainer- and daredevil, his car show is fecking awesome. his devotion to his work obvious. he just doesn't work for me in this role. i don't think he does american accents too good, his brooklyn / cagney 'you dirty rat' accent is typical of any brit trying to imitate that of its USA cousin- a bit like anyone attempting 'oh behave' austin powers.
yeh i agree , it will be awesome to hear the Gilead talk and greetings on screen, and know what is going on- but from the little i've seen in the trailer above, it's only dread i'm feeling.

The Trailer is about what I was expecting, i.e. a total repudiation of the story in the books.
An unofficial trailer with something fishy. That trailer claims February 17th is the release date when it's been pushed to the end of July if I'm not mistaken. I did like the Who song being whispered.

More than likely that trailer hasn't been edited since the original release date and thus leaked it doesn't have the current one.
This is the same trailer that was leaked and taken down almost instantly many months ago. You can tell there's still plenty of special effects and other things that have not yet been added into it. i.e. Jake going through the portal, the low man moving his face, etc.
