Anyone else check and see if your personal information was compromised by the Experian leak? I did, and found that yes they did leak my info... Pretty ticked off.. but they say they lost 126 million people's information in the leak, pretty much most of the taxpayers in the US. I did sign up for the free year of credit monitoring, fat lot of good it will likely do me..

I think it was Equifax. I'm just paranoid enough to want to freeze our credit. This won't freeze the cards - just your info so if anyone tries to open an account with your info, you'll be notified. But I wonder if that's enough. My big worry is someone getting into our bank accounts. We've had that happen a few times - from skimmers. It's disturbing to wake up and check the bank account and find it's been drained. And I don't think freezing your credit can help with that. So, I'm on the fence.

You're welcome. Unfortunately, my info was affected, too, but I thought they are supposed to be giving the service free for a year to anyone affected. I haven't gotten my confirmation email yet. They said it could take a few days because of the volume of requests.
I didn't see anything in their writings that says anything is free, just to 'click here' to sign up for the premium service.
