I would've voted for Body Heat if not for a movie none of you have seen or heard of, Julia and Julia. (If you google it it's also Giulia e Giulia.) It's a f***ing incredible movie, and any of you who haven't seen it by this time next year, not only will I hate you I will not remember you, but...at least maybe you'll visit again.

I wouldn't really consider No Way Out or Fatal Attraction to be erotic thrillers, per se. Sure, sex is involved in the storylines, but they aren't entirely focused on it to the extent of films like Basic Instinct or anything else Joe Eszterhas churned out in the nineties. I'd hate to sound rude, but how many of these erotic thrillers were actually good? I haven't seen Basic Instinct, but I've heard enough of it to know that it's showing its pedigree as a product of the early nineties. I saw a bit of Color of Night with Bruce Willis, which is so astoundingly bad that it's hilarious; it's like if Tommy Wiseau directed a thriller.

Back when, when we got HBO, there were movies with a couple actresses whose first names were Shannon that were quite....

Oh, you probably mean "favorite" as in writing, drama, acting, and that kind of stuff.

Sure, I'll go with Body Heat. Honorable mention: Black Widow with Theresa Russell.

Just watched Body Heat today. I really like this movie.
Body Heat is a favorite of mine for a number of reasons. I love its creepy, sultry, noir atmosphere. I love Hurt's and Rourke's performances, but especially Ted Danson's (an all-time favorite performance). I figure I'll always watch it when it comes available on TV, which is currently where I watch all of my movies.

I found a blue ray DVD that included 3 movies: Body Heat, The Player, and L.A. Confidential at Walmart in the 5 dollar bin!

I've never seen it, just watched The Player today. I'll watch LA Confidential soon!

It's one of those movies that is enjoyable the first time you watch it, but more so the second (or so) time as you see how the stores twists together and the little directorial and acting nuances. I don't know of any single movie that appeals to everyone, but I hope you enjoy it!
