...she's pretty good Niro!...

Yaeh, she is. She only made the second place. There was a little bit of a scandal but the other didn't wanted to do it. He said he couldn't cope with all the hype.

We will see how much points we get in the final ranking.:)

The country from which the singer is can't vote for him/her.

Yay Australia is finally in the Eurovision (is Australia in Europe ? lol ) and Guy Sebastion's song is really good, they have been playing the song at work. It's on at 3am Perth time so I won't be watching it live.

It's just because of the 60th anniversary of the ESC. Australia seems to be a long time fan of it so they were invited.
If they win it will even be in Australia next year.

I've been meaning to watch it. Crap, it snuck up on me.

niro, that is a great song!

I wasn't aware of the ESC until a couple of years ago, when I was looking up Lulu to see what she did after "To Sir With Love." I found she'd won some contest I'd never heard of with a song called Boom-Bang-a-Bang, and I had to see what THAT was all about. (It was as bad as it sounds. Bad being a totally subjective judgment, and if B-B-a-B is your wedding song or something, then I unreservedly apologize for all 10 million hateful and ugly thoughts I've had about it. I'm sure it was a beautiful ceremony.)

Anyone not aware of it should really check out the history of the contest, and watch some of the videos. I'll include a video of all the winners from the beginning to last year. It's worth spending the time on, just to see how much has changed since 1956. I do believe most people involved in the beginning would be shocked to see some of the recent winners (Lordi and Conchita, I'm looking at you!)

So, Sweden is the winner.

He is singing in English - his looks remind me of a guy named Johnny Reid, (when he was younger) - a Scottish/Canadian singer.
