Oh, thanks, Dana Jean. Autumn always feels way too short for me so I try to not to waste one minute of it. I walk, I bake, I read Robert Frost, I decorate the house, and I endlessly extol its beauty to everyone until they're sick of hearing me. :biggrin2:
A huge autumn fan here, too. People always say it's a sign of death and impending winter, but autmn makes me come alive!

Carrie is my favorite SK book. I was bullied all 4 years of high school and also suffered humiliation once in the shower after gym class. I just always identified with Carrie White since reading the book back in high school. (I did not have a crazy religious fanatic mother though!) I did the math once and figured out I would have been a couple of years younger than Carrie when the story took place. I realized too late after I had been on the boards a while that I could have chosen simply "carrie's brother" without the "younger" since she was an only child and did not have an older brother. :D

PS- I love this thread!

I think you two are a couple of Lobstrocities! (at least in your avatar, that is!) :grinning::laugh:
Do you think you will be able to come to Colorado in 2016 by any chance?

:biggrin2: The lobster pictures were taken last year in Maine. After the Kon my sis (rewoT91) and I spent a couple of days meandering up the coast to Canada. Had the most wonderful time!

I want to come to Colorado more than anything I've wanted for a long time but my husband and I both have the worst fear of driving in high areas so I don't know how we'll get there! We had a hard time driving in the Badlands of South Dakota which are pretty meek to say the least. We also hate flying. A lot... But, I want to go pretty bad so you never know. And The Shining was my first King book so I have a special place in my heart for that setting!

My name is not Holly, and I look nothing like the magnificent Audrey Hepburn. I had a bad case of the mean reds when I joined the board and fancied myself tragic but desperately making life one big party. I recovered, but the name is still fun - I like trying to find gorgeous avatars.

Love the lobster picture of gniknehpets and rewoT91! And I love Neesy's lobster shirt in the kon thread. Does everyone on here think/say "lobstrosities" instead of "lobsters" now? I almost always do.

Ha...! I did not know this.
We go together like fizzy (what we call soda) and chocolate...
Actually, do these even go well together? :eyebrow:
Yar... they probably do.

Ha! I always thought there was another skimom on here who just never showed up anymore. lol
'Twas moi! I couldn't remember my password, and couldn't have it sent to my e-mail because I'd changed ISPs (and e-mail provider) years ago. It was just as easy to start again, and I was glad to see so many familiar names who remembered me (at least a little) :) It made it easier to slide back into the Tet.

Mine was bc I first got online to be directly connected with my work. I had no plans of going anywhere else, places like FB or Twitter I didn't know existed. We do continuing education in my work every six months and I wanted to be keeping up with it at all times.

Not everyone knows EMT means Emergency Medical Technician. When they trained us, they informed us to tell people our first name and that we're an Emergency Medical Technician, so I did. I was surprised that not everyone knew the meaning of the letters but I listen to my instructors out of habit. Now I say Paramedic so it doesn't matter but an EMT and Paramedic are the same thing when you add a P after the T.

That I found all these "social media websites" like Twitter, FB, You Tube and celebrity pages still surprises me a bit, bc I'm not a social butterfly by nature.
I'm happy I did find the sites, especially Stephen King and Kelly Braffet. She's really skilled at writing and talented at it too. I don't understand why she hasn't also won awards such as Best First Novel. Josie and Jack was really good.
