I saw this show the other night on the TLC channel. Oh my!! I would say these people have taking savings to an abnormal extreme. The one lady was planning her daughter's wedding and she even borrowed the display cake ( which was not real) so that she could serve a box mix cake. They went shopping for the wedding dress at a pawn shop. They got a discount because a rat had peed on the dress. IT was too much!

Isn't there a saying about weddings....something old, something blue, a bit of rat pee? Something like that, I may have it a little wrong.

Did I mention that they held the wedding in the high school- she knew someone who worked at the school and it was free. The ceiling tiles were falling down. However, she was assured that they would hold up for the wedding.

I have to agree somewhat about some of the new shows on TLC. I watched a couple of shows of Extreme Cheapskates. These people are totally unbelievable! I don't think I'll be watching this one again.

I love sales and bargains as much as the next person but how their families can put up with this behaviour just defies belief!

Oh I saw another episode last night. This one made me throw up a little in my mouth. All four people take a bath in the same cold water and have about a thimble full of shampoo to "ration". They also do not use toilet paper-but take crumpled up newspaper for paperwork and then burn the bag. Oh my goodness.

Awww, were they English? My partner is and yes, its a stereotype...but boy do they love a discount! Although generally followed by such violence provoking comments as "honey 50% off, still means 50% on!"...anyways just wondered...:D

It's kind of like an accident scene - you just have to slow down to look. But, no way can people actually live like that! I just think it's highly exaggerated and silly.
