I think I have a bias to A Christmas Story, much of it because that was my life. Not the hideous floor lamp, but the skewed perceptions of what was cool, the electric extensions and plug-ins under the lamp, right to the blown fuse and not having a replacement with the right amperage.

Home Alone 1 and 2
It's a Wonderful Life
A Miracle on 34th Street (the original, with Natalie Wood)
A Christmas Story
Polar Express

And a good movie for any of the holidays: Rise of the Guardians.

I hesitate to put George C. Scott's "Christmas Carol" on my list, mainly because the movie freaks me out so bad. I love it for the originality and the classic quality that it has, it's a great movie, but it SCARES me! :biggrin2:

I saw a version of "A Christmas Carol" several years ago that starred Henry Winkler as Scrooge. It was actually a very good version of the movie and Henry Winkler did a good job. I haven't seen it since, but I think it was just called "Scrooge" if I remember correctly.

My favorite of the many adaptations of this. Definitely the darkest of the bunch.
