Never saw that one. Too funny.

Back a long time ago ... '60s, maybe, or '70s. A couple young women, dashing around their place, getting ready for some night out, doing girl talk. One of them is saying, "I'm going to steal him from you!" The other one says, "No, you're not!" They continued in this real cute girl-competition banter.

They're ready, the doorbell rings, and they run to open it. On the other side is a distinguished-looking gray-haired guy who looks happy, in a distinguished way, to see them.

Back to the girls. One says, "Hi, Daddy!" The other flashes a winning smile, "Hi!"

No idea how to find it. No idea even what the commercial was about or what product was being sold. When my daughter started turning adult, and now that my granddaughters are on their way, it's just an impossibly endearing memory.

I don't think I've ever actually eaten at an Arby's restaurant (although I used to drink quite a lot, so anything is possible), but I love those commercials with James Earl Jones hawking roast beef sandwiches.

You really know you've reached iconic status in America when you can get work doing an impression of yourself!

(and having been Darth Vader isn't half bad, either)

It's not James Earl Jones, it's Ving Rhames.

It's been years since I've watched commercial TV, but I always liked the "Shark Week" ads. Especially the ones when the shark would eat the silly little seal. Team Jaws all the way!
