This is my current desktop image. This is the Barringer Meteor Crater in Arizona. About 18 miles to the left is Flagstaff Az and to the right is Winslow AZ ("Standing on a corner in Winslow Arizona" Take It Easy by The Eagles). Towards the north is the Grand Canyon and further to the right is the Painted Desert. The blacktop asphalt access road ties into Interstate 40. :)

Got to see that in May of this year along with the Petrified Forest, Painted Desert and did the obligatory photo op in Winslow. ;-D

Couldn't talk my family (kids) into stopping long enough to see the meteor crater. I struggled to get them to journey to the Grand Canyon (they did have fun trying to catch lizards at the Canyon's precipice). Nothing was going to slow them down cause Disneyland awaited! This was in 1989.
