Frankly my dear i don't give a damn. Do i need to tell you who said that. no, didn't think so.

What is interesting is, In the scene with the staircase leading to the bedroom, the scene was censored because of the idea of what happens in the bedroom. This was Ireland and c1940.

French letters were not freely available in ireland till 1990. The church would not allow it. i kid you not. if a woman got pregnanat and was not married - my god the idea. they would be sent to houses run by nuns who treated them cruelly and made these women do things that were not nice. IT is only in the last year, the houses have apologised to the women. Our taoiseach (prime minster) has apogised to the ladies. Their crime: getting pregnant. their punishment: being treated like a subhuman by the people who are supposed to belive in god. If you wanted french letters you would go to our cousins (Ulster) or our neighbours (england.) My aunt was one of these ladies. she suffered. i know.
