-Thrill Me (about the Leopold & Loeb case)
-Midsummer Night's Dream (favorite time I saw it was at Sundance's outdoor theater. The fairies came out of the surrounding forest and danced through the audience to get to the stage area :) )
-Various other Shakespeare
-The Rainmaker
-Whose Life Is It Anyway
-Barefoot in the Park
-various other Neil Simon
-Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolff
-Rent

A few of my favorites :)

I review local theater for a local online publication, so I see quite a few shows that way. Mostly musical theater, though (that's HUGE here), and that's not my favorite. Rest assured, I review fairly. :)
Neil Simon is a riot. Didn't he do the Odd Couple? I have seen Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf (Taylor's best performance, imo) but haven't read Albee's play. Thanks for the suggestions, I have never heard of Thrill Me. I'm fascinated by that case.

That's my favorite local play I've been asked to review (local production, not local author). It was extremely well done, a mixture of straight drama and musical theater (weird, but it worked here) , with some very funny instances. They play around with history a bit, in service of the story, but that's to be expected--it's not billed as a straight history but as theater. If you ever get a chance to see it, do.

Saw Les Misérables in 1987 in New York City, when hardly anyone had heard of it. Still my favorite production ever. Saw 42nd Street during that same visit.
I've seen Phantom of the Opera three times. Love the story and the music.
Another favorite--Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat...saw it twice.
Miss Saigon--sad sad haunting story.
The Sound of Music with Marie Osmond playing Maria.
Saw Camelot with Robert Goulet as King Arthur. He had played Lancelot in the original cast, and it was pretty cool to see him take on the older role.
Years ago, when I had the time (rehearsals were nearly every night), I did a lot of community theater (mostly musicals)--Camelot, South Pacific (I was Bloody Mary), Joseph, Guys and Dolls, God's Favorite, I'll Be Back Before Midnight, Boys on the Side.
Obviously a big musical fan. :)

In 1976, I got to see the play 1776! at a dinner theater in Washington, D.C.? Virginia? Somewhere right in there. I was with my high school drill team who had just marched in The Cherry Blossom Parade.

The founding fathers hated my pod of girls. We were right in front of the stage, up against the stage. We were ordering Shirley Temples like a boss and clinking and clanging silverware and plates around. Laughing, talking. Just being the total hicks we were.

I'm really shocked Benjamin Franklin (who I was sure was breaking the 4th wall and staring at me) didn't leap from the stage and strangle us all with his kite string.
