The top photo is actually a cropped version of the one that is on the dust jacket of Carrie. It's his first 'author' photo! =D
I didn't know that. I've never seen an actual first edition of Carrie. The book club edition didn't have an author photo at all, did it?
The second photo I'd never seen, either. From what I can gather it's taken from a book signing event he did at Forbidden Planet in the UK. Maybe it's early 1981? Could this be before that when he was in London staying with the Straubs? Did he do a book tour in England for Cujo?

The book club edition has the same photo on it (at least the ones that I have). I was trying to figure out what book he was promoting in England based on the photo in the posters behind him also.

I justed checked my UK editions- looks like it was when he was promoting Christine. That picture is on the entire back cover of Christine and, while it does appear on the inside back flap of Pet Semetary, there is no white space with the price showing on the bottom corner inside front flap of the dustjacket of Pet Semetary. This would make it 1983. Mystery solved.

You're the man, lol. I didn't think about you having all of those books at your fingertips. Must be nice!

Tabby is the photographer in the King family and so is James Leonard (he has taken a few of them that have ended up on King dustjackets). I'd love to see Tabby publish a photo-journal of their life together.....

That's a good idea. It could be in her biography. I really whant to see things from her perspective, just tabby, no king, no kids, just tabby and like a sit down 20/20 type of intervew.
