What's also interesting about fear is that a lack of information can make us either fearful ("what was that strange sound?") or a lack of information can keep us happy ("What I don't know won't hurt me.") Sometimes ignorance is bliss, sometimes it makes us assume the worst. Maybe the problem is with assuming anything at all.
Fear is innate and keeps us alive. To be constantly scared when there is no danger is a mental pathology that can be treated.
