I keep hoping for an interesting episode, but they never quite make it. DiO'Bolic , you're absolutely right: Blonde Mom and Sketchy Guy should die. So should Teen Girl--who 1) takes a shower unprotected at that time and 2) doesn't immediately put their shoes on after their ill-advised shower? They all deserve to die.

OK, I'm intrigued. We've not got S2 yet (unless you have BT's tv package - and hardly anyone has - you can't get AMC, so it's 'wait until next spring for Amazon to get it' time). S1 started out ropey but seemed to get better, and there've been a few series blogs I've seen that had mostly positive things for the first few eps of S2 (though comments were mixed to say the least).
So...since it seems ratings may have fallen off a cliff (going by skimom2's "Anyone still watching?"), did they drop the ball mid-season or has it been a bit of a trudge from the start? (Sorry. Couldn't resist.)

Anyone still watching? We're stubborn watching--only because we paid for the damn thing. I did buy The Walking Dead the other day, so we have that to look forward to. :)
We are still watching. We are a couple episodes behind. I think the episodes in the hotel have been better but it is still just pretty meh for me.

I know must suspend belief, (Zombie show) However, I want my characters to do stuff that is plausible in that situation. Not stupid stuff, like Fear seems to have done.

I watched the season finale...Not too bad.

I liked the next to last episode (only saw one of the two episodes last night). I thought the nasty ending was just right.

I've done a lot of complaining about this show, so I'll say one good thing. One thing the show did this season that was interesting was that by going South, we got to see the zombie apocalypse being dealt with by a Mexican culture that views death very differently than most of us in the US. I don't have any idea how accurately or inaccurately this was portrayed but I thought that aspect of the show was very interesting.

The final was mostly good. What would have been better and more realistic is if
after killing Brandon and Derek, Travis finished with Madison. She is driving me crazy. I think Travis could have handled finding out about Chris better if it didn't involve Madison lieing.

It's as I've said before in relation to TWD, the only thing you have to accept is that a ZA could happen. Everything else from there has to proceed in a way that's logical and truthful to a) the characters, b) their relationships, c) what we all know about broader human behaviour. For example, if you set it up so that the bad guys (zombies, in this case) home in on sound, it makes zero sense to have characters wandering around an unknown space waffling away like they're just off on a Sunday afternoon stroll. Obviously you can't overdo it and have them suddenly moving like a well-drilled special ops unit, but the dumb and careless would not survive while everyone else would have to learn very quickly.
It sometimes seems like the prods of TWD have forgotten that, so they have people do dumb stuff to create tension that has everyone calling BS. Seems like FTWD has taken that up a notch, which is a shame (and doesn't bode well for the parent show's return, tbh).

I really want to like the new season of FTWD. But I hate it when they don't lock the camera down. Or worse, jiggle the camera around, for that edgy effect, I guess. I don't want to be reminded that there is a camera. I like my suspension of disbelief, thanks.

SIGH!! I thought that this series had the potential to be good...Just struggling. Especially, what they did the second episode.

I didn't see it last night but thought the had a good premier last week (at least the first half of it). I've always struggled connecting with these characters and I think I figured out why. The Fear group never had any real bad asses and when the non bad asses turn into bad asses, it's not believable. In the early days of The Walking Dead, we had Shane, Rick and Daryl who were capable of taking care of themselves and others from day one. All of the characters in Fear would have been dead in the first week on The Walking Dead. The Fear group getting out of the situation they were in last week just doesn't seem as realistic as The Walking Dead group getting out of hot water.

I agree....I have not the connection that I had to Rick, Shane and Carl in the first season. I think that is where I have a problem. I think it does not help that they have no bad ass character like Daryl. The character Jake has the good looks and could potentially develop into a bad ass. I continue to watch, due to I like the zombie genre. However, I might give up if I find no redeeming value in this series.

Season 3 started attractive and it was the first time, i liked Travis.
Has someone seen the Second Part yet ?!?

This Series would be great, if it would explain, how Negan and the Saviors originated.
