\I won't see it until tomorrow (comes on HULU at midnight tonight, and school starts tomorrow)! I'm cautiously optimistic :)

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't know it would be available on Hulu.

OK. :)

the scene on the highway ramp, which various characters watch on the Internet...why does NO ONE say "bath salts"?

We have had previous discussions about how something can pull you out of the show, because it is unrealistic (in a show about zombies, lol). Well...that moment pulled me out of the show.

Ha! I understand. My big you-have-to-be-kidding, SMH moment

When the nurse untied one of young Johnny Depp teen restraints. Young man was bought in when he tried to commit suicide by running into traffic (that's what they thought) being hit. He has heroin in his system and Psych has been called to evaluate him. And she undoes one restraint? Umm...NO. You undo one hand and...they will use that hand to undo the other restraint. And get away. Like he did.
MEA CULPA! I meant VUDU (though I have heard that HULU will be the exclusive AMC distributor coming soon).

Meh. The acting was pretty bad all around, but the mom was passable most of the time. Maybe it will get better as it goes along. Not loving the cut-rate Trent Reznor-impression music, either.

I didn't get a sexual vibe from the brother and sister, though. I have seen sibs that are very close after trauma (hinted at, I think by the mom's comment that "It runs in the blood" or something like that).

Two major idiotic moments: 1) when the mom's boyfriend sees all the blood everywhere and does NOT call the cops. WHUT? 2) the 'untie one hand' bit was mucho stupid. First, for a call that would require a hand, the nurse would not bring a bedpan. She'd bring the ...whatever it's called. The weenie tank (lol). AND she'd just hold it. Seriously. Plus, did the mom and BF totally miss that the kid said he's been buying his junk from the Calvin kid? Dumb, dumb, dumb

I thought the "runs in the blood" referred to addiction. I'd have to rewatch to see.

1) agree completely.
2) I agree she would not have brought a bedpan. But, I can believe a nurse would untie one hand. He was brought in and tied because of the fear he might be a danger to himself. He was acting coherently, not aggressively. And though a nurse absolutely should NOT make a decision like that herself, I can believe one would.

I kinda liked the mom the least, even though I've seen and liked her in other things.

And, yeah. They did
shuttle the old guy downstairs in a hurry, didn't they?
...Am I the only one that thought the doctor resembled the red-headed Mythbuster?

I kind of got the idea that the nurse
untied Nick's hand because maybe she thought that something was up with the old guy, too, and undid him so he wouldn't be trapped and helpless. She heard the same creepy breathing noises we did. That's the vibe I got, rewatching it. That she was giving him a chance to split if he had to. I mean, she left him untied not once, but twice.

I agree. I also had the thought that maybe the doctor knew what was about to happen with this old fellow, and was so anxious to have him moved downstairs, away from prying eyes, so as not to cause a panic.

I have to wonder about the premise. Will the show be about the early states of the zombie apocalypse itself or a soap opera dealing with a different characters dull history and persona each week? And can this show really move beyond the early stages of the zombie apocalypse regarding the how, what and why it happened? Because if it did move beyond the onslaught, won’t it just then be The Walking Dead: Los Angeles?

If the children misbehave there is always the tree tie up threat. :)

Or they can just look at the flowers...........o_O

Good point, DiO. I wonder if this show has "end-game" and will stop around when Rick wakes up in the hospital. I'm thinking it's about both: like with TWD, it's really about the characters and how they survive in this kind of world and how it affects them. I'm guessing FtWD will do the same thing...

The way they described it on the Talking Dead is that this show takes place basically during the weeks that Rick was in his coma. We see how society deals with the first whispers, and then the full-on onslaught. We know what's coming for these people, they don't, they said. And we get to see how people deal with it as it unfolds. If the series hangs on long enough, then, yeah. It'll be TWD: LA.
I, personally, hope to see Nick join the east coast cast, especially if FTWD folds.
