My name is Cate and I understand that this is probably the wrong thread to post this question, but I really would love to find the answer if possible.

As our family is naval based, we are currently residing in New Hampshire on the Maine line as well. In fact, located in the same area where The Running Man's Ben Richards chose to take the chase on the Portsmouth Circle to get on 95 when he was heading toward the Derry Airport.

With every place we have been stationed, we've always found a way to find something memorable to have our family picture taken. Finding something solid from the books, movies, tv shows would be amazing. I know I could use the actual circle, but if you saw the circle today vs what I imagine Mr. King had in mind for his futuristic scene, it's not much. Unless you like having an alcohol store and a roundabout diner in the background.

There's a Derry, NH, but clearly it was not Derry, Maine. So if anyone has any ideas, I would be eternally grateful. Thanks in hopeful advance!

Hello and welcome:) I hear you about standing in front of his house. It made me squirm when we stopped there on the SK tour but I drank the kool aid anyway. If you take the SK Tour of Maine with Stu there are some great photo ops-including the "place" in the Pet Semetary where SK made his cameo (I am relying on Stu's input on that one;) If that's too far North to drive there is Durham and Lisbon Falls (The Dead Zone,11/22/63).

CateHelm -- you said you are currently residing in NH on the Maine line. What about the location from the SK book: The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon?

The brochure promised a "moderate-to-difficult" six-mile hike on the Maine-New Hampshire branch of the Appalachian Trail, where nine-year-old Trisha McFarland was to spend Saturday with her older brother, Pete, and her recently divorced mother. When she wanders off to escape their constant bickering, then tries to catch up by attempting to shortcut through the woods, Trisha strays deeper into a wilderness full of peril and terror. Especially when night falls

I liked the list sent to me, but I don't know if I'd ever go near his house. I feel that that would intrude on someone we like and would make them not like us, if that makes sense! Ahaha! But the idea of the tower in his town is neat.
As long as you don't go up to his door and yell "Hey Steve! LET ME IN!" I think you'll be able to get away with a photo of yourself in front of the 'famous gates'.

Welcome to SKMB!

p.s. They won't be open like they are in this picture, though :frog::)

Stephen's Derry is based on Bangor and you can find many of the references to Derry in his fiction there.

The house in Bangor is on a public street. As long as you stay on the sidewalk and don't go onto the property itself, it would be ok to take a picture there.
