yesYesYES! I adore this show! Fox screwed up entirely with the way they handled it when it was on: they mixed up the episodes, demanded a different pilot (if you watch it on Netflix or DVD, the second episode was the first actually shown), and the last two episodes were never shown at all. Morons. There's a great likelihood that my family will cosplay Firefly for at least one day in next fall's ComiCon (if I can convince oldest boy to be Jayne--lol).

I saw the documentary on Netflix where they talk about all this. It made zero sense.

You should make your son sing the Hero of Canton. lol

He barely speaks--singing would be out of the question :D Jayne is pretty badass, though (even if he is sort of a jerk), so he might go for it. I've not seen a documentary--what is it called? I'd like to check it out!

I've seen every episode! I like Joss Whedon's stuff in general.
Have you seen his Much Ado About Nothing? TREMENDOUS production, IMHO, and Fillion is the best Dogberry I've ever seen. He gives a dignity to the foolish character like I've never seen before. Between that, Firefly, and Dr. Horrible, I think The Man has a mancrush on Mr. Fillion--lol.

Yes, I've seen it. Have you ever watched Dollhouse? There were twenty-seven episodes. It had a really interesting storyline that got better over time. Alas, I don't recall Mr. Fillion showing up in any of the episodes!

LOL! I've watched season 1, but not season 2 (yet). When we went to last year's ComicCon, Joss Whedon's brother was on the Whedon panel, and what he said about Dollhouse was interesting: it was planned for 7 seasons, the first two being a lot of set up for a big payoff starting in the third season. SOOO...that could be why viewers complained that the show was slow. It worked with Buffy, I think--it didn't really get meaty until the third season--and I think he's trying that with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. , too. Unfortunately, networks and viewers aren't willing to give a show time for adequate set up for a big story.

Just saw this and the film. Such a great show! It sucks that this show was not on longer!

Any fellow browncoats on the board?!

Our son was telling us what a great show this was. Yeah, yeah, whatever. He loaned us his DVD series. We plugged it in on a Saturday morning.

Sunday afternoon, and there's us in our robes, a mound of cracker boxes, cheese wrappers, frozen dinner boxes, bowls with petrifying cereal remains, empty wine bottles, apple cores lying around, and we're saying, "There's more episodes... right? right?"

Really great show.
