Another legend has passed to the clearing.......

(CNN) -- Pete Seeger, the man considered to be one of the pioneers of contemporary folk music who inspired legions of activist singer-songwriters, died Monday.

He was 94.

Seeger's best known songs include "Where Have All the Flowers Gone," "Turn! Turn! Turn! (To Everything There Is a Season)" and "If I Had a Hammer (The Hammer Song)."

But his influence extended far beyond individual hits.

His grandson Kitama Cahill Jackson told CNN that the singer died of natural causes at New York Presbyterian Hospital on Monday evening

Thanks for posting this, Spidey. Part of my youth went with Pete last night. I saw him perform numerous times over the years from Central Park, to an elementary school to the The Croton on The Hudson Music Festival in NY. And, of course, with Arlo. Pete Seeger was an outstanding performer and above all person. He will be missed.

Thanks for all the memories Pete and the pancakes you made for us at Croton. May the Clearwater sail forever!!!

"Where Have All the Flowers Gone," "Turn! Turn! Turn!" and "If I Had a Hammer"... Man, that takes me back to my youth. I just watched a PBS show on folk music the other night. Love PBS for those kind of things. Worthwhile making donations to PBS just for their music endeavors alone.

Had changed it before scrolling down to see this but mission accomplished either way. :)

"Mission Accomplished." Channeling your inner George W Bush I see. ;)
