How is your baking coming along lately?

Today I am thinking of making a recipe from my 150 Delicious Squares cookbook - probably something using graham wafer squares

It comes and goes depending on my mood. I haven't made anything noteworthy recently. Let me know how those come out; they sound tasty!

Speaking of the game meats,a bunch of us from work lived together when we were young, and one of the guys was always fishing or hunting. He kept us well stocked with venison, rabbit, fish, etc,it was all pretty good, love venison actually. But once he prepared hamburger from a black bear..it was greasy, and gamey, and I just could not finish it,I was actually turning green.I guess cause I am somewhat of a large bearlike animal myself,it was too much like cannibalism to me,in fact if you have ever seen a skinned bear it is pretty startling..anyhow,never again with bear meat!

Learning to eat more deer as we are covered up with them now. They eat anything they can find from cash crops to azaleas. Got to add lots of spices and even beef or pork fat to it to make it edible. Put ground deer into spaghetti or chili and it is not too bad. Hard to eat, as you say, in just a burger patty without fooling your taste buds.

Also when it comes to deer the younger the animal the less gamey taste.

OK don't worry people I wait until the spots are gone before harvest.
My uncle pretty much cleans and processes his own deer. I'm not sure what he marinates the tenderloin in, but you'd never guess you were eating deer.
Every season, he takes one deer to an Amish place to have it made I to summer sausage. I've asked for that for Christmas for the last 4 years.

Have around 20 pounds of deer sausage in the freezer. Close to 50 pounds of deer hamburger. Couple of roasts.

My oldest son and I got an 8 point and 9 point out of same stand 6 hours apart on same day. About 40 yards from the garage.

Lazy I know but when the groceries deliver themselves got to let them in the door.

Swiss cheese. It tastes like dirty feet smell.

Miracle Whip=disgusting. Just ew. (I do, however, like dipping my French fries in mayo.)

Sweet pickle relish, sweet pickle anything, makes me want to gag. Dill pickle relish, though, coupled with sauerkraut and mayo and ketchup and all piled onto a polish dog? Yum!

I've never heard of sugar in spaghetti sauce before. I was raised to add red wine vinegar.

Fish. I'll eat trout or catfish if I catch it, and occasionally I can be coerced into eating sushi, (if it's deep fried) but otherwise, I'll pass. It stinks, its full of bones, and I really don't like the texture. Especially salmon, blick.

And what's up with chard?
