Breaking news...According to the AP, Tom Brady's suspension has been nullified by the judge.
I see an appeal coming up. I can’t see Roger Goodell allowing this to set precedence and diminish the power provided to him to make decisions in these matters, which was part of the collective bargaining agreement.

This is what happens when you don't have any direct evidence tying the person to the alleged offense and allow erroneous reports and statements to float around for months.

Brady always had plausible deniability in this. Right decision.

I don't think the ruling had anything to with guilt or not by Brady. Instead, I think it had to do with Goodell not informing Brady what the penalty would be beforehand. So now I guess the NFL must come up with penalty standards for any possible cheating or any other infraction, or something. Ridiculous! Goodell should appeal. And the way the appeal process lags on forever, Brady will probably start his suspension after he retires.

This whole silly thing was always about Goddell trying to establish himself as a disciplinarian after the Ray Rice fiasco. His excessive punishment for a minor rule infraction was patently ridiculous. Especially when there was no direct evidence of the player being involved. Suspending a player for 25% of the season on something you can't prove is just foolish.

As for the phone? They have no right to ask for it. It's personal property. If Brady gave it up it sets a bad precedent. The league would would then have grounds to ask for any players phone at any time for any reason. Who does the NFL think they are? The Gestapo?

If my company asked for my personal phone I'd tell them to pound sand. If they want my work phone, fine. It's their property. But my personal phone, with my contacts, pix, and other personal info is off limits.

The NFL will lose the appeal. Especially when the court and judge they lobbied for just blew them out of the water.

Somewhere over the rainbow
:grinning:
Pats fans can ignore what all the haters have to say,
Patriots
were vindicated... Brady gets to play.
Judge has ruled the NFL's behavior wasn't fair,
Siding with New England and Tom Brady's case. So there!

An impartial ruling found that four games were too much
For some balls they found were slightly softer to the touch.
'though the NFL's appealed, appeals can take awhile;
Could be years before the case would even come to trial.

I hope Brady sues their ass for what they've put him through,
Making accusations as they robbed him of his due
Of the joy he should have felt, with all his heart and soul,
At New England's victory in last year's Super Bowl.
