Those are all in sympathy for you. I grew up in Illinois and have friends who are Cubs fans. Same rules of sympathy apply.

I don't know this jasper. Time will tell. The Broncos are sometimes good at picking out talent that others haven't realized. But QB is a pretty fulcrum role to try that on.
Sympathy for the devil, eh? :)

If he could make his reads faster and overcome his propensity to overturn the ball, he will do fine for the Broncos.

Generational reference and a play on your named. Well played, sir.

I have to suspect he'll find himself in a backup role to whomever the Broncos really want in that position.

The schedule is out and The Dolphins have a rough start. 3 of their first 4 games are on the road against Seattle, New England and Cincinnati.

Last year, they only had 2 home games in their first 9. The schedule makers don't seem to like September games in Miami. (It is like the inside of hell in September in Miami)

It looks like another 6 or 7 win season to me.

The Jets schedule... Three home primetime games on national TV in a four-week span. Five primetime games in all. Six road games in the first nine weeks. Games on Christmas Eve and New Year's Day. If they can resign Fitzpatrick I predict another 10-6 season. Hey... Don’t laugh! :)
Now, you know that I'd never laugh right out loud in front of you.........:biggrin2:

I read that as resign, as in leaving...I was thinking :umm: Dio has lost it! Why would he want Fitzpatrick to resign?

:facepalm_smiley: It has been another stressful week.

Who's going to throw the ball for the Broncos this year........Elway?:biggrin-new:
I have enough to worry about right now. Can't worry about the Broncos too. ;)

Seriously, I am still hoping they can somehow get Kaepernick but I am not following along too close to the happenings. Sanchez, meh. Manziel??? No freaking way.

I don't think even my elf can help this coming season. ;-D

I don't think there is much chance of Manziel. They did talk to him but I doubt it will go any farther than that. The Broncos don't seem to be willing to clear any cap space for a QB so I think they are planning on going with Sanchez and whatever other cheap options are floating around out there. I thought Kaepernick was a bargain for a veteran starter with quite a bit of potential (I understand he hasn't been very good lately but I think that has more to do with the 49ers than him). The Broncos were not willing to pay him 11 million. Most of the NFL starters make more than that so I think Kaepernick would be worth 11 million but the Broncos don't seem to be willing to make the space. Maybe they think the great defense will be enough (and it may be).

I agree with you. He has not fit with the 49ers very well since Harbaugh left. 11 million IS a bargain for him. That is even more frustrating, to know they could have him for that. Defense is great, but still have to be able to move the ball and score, too. And it is frustrating that Elway of all people is not putting more emphasis on finding a good quarterback. Kaepernick would gel well with Kubiak I think.

What, are we just going to go with new QBs every year for a few years? That is not a great plan.

Favre can un-retire yet again.

If Elway wasn't such a tightwad, I'd be worried they'd go after Fitzpatrick in free agency and also draft Dak Prescott or Connor Cook for their future.

As I understand it, the Broncos are one of the worst teams in shape for the salary cap, so I don't know that it's being a tightwad. In this case, necessity is the mother of thriftiness.

It still boggles by mind that there was a discussion that San Francisco could pay a guy 4 or 5 million to play for a different team.
